"The fun of riding a motorbike while seeing the beauty of the mountains is different", said Shovit Ghimire, who went to visit Jhankripani in Barangja from Beni on Saturday.
Like the song of Swara Samrat Narayan Gopal, at this time the forests of Myagdi are colored with the flowers of rhododendron. The forest of Myagdi is now full of excitement with the crowd of people taking photos, taking selfies and making TikToks with the silvery mountains visible to the north from the wildly blooming rhododendron forest.
Raksha Poudel, who had come to Todke from Benibazar, the headquarters of Myagdi, was busy taking pictures with mountains and rhododendrons in the background. His friends who came with him were also busy taking photos enjoying the rhododendrons.
From February to June is the blooming time of red gourds. Along with rhododendrons, which is also the national flower, one can see a crowd of visitors not only in the tourist destination areas but also in the remote forests and hills.
The tourist area of Annapurna Rural Municipality of Myagdi has become wild due to the growth of rhododendrons in most of the forest areas including Poon Hill, Ghorepani, Ramche, and Ghar. In the same way, rhododendrons have also bloomed in the tourist spots of Raghuganga, Mangala, Malika and Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality and Beni Municipality in Kevhil, Bhakimli, Todke and other areas.
Tourists have started to enjoy themselves after the red flowers bloomed in Vanapakha. Ghodepani located at an altitude of 2,874 meters above sea level in Northern Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, Ghar, and the forest area around Poon Hill located at 3,210 meters are blooming with different species of gourds. Although there are 31 species of red flowers found in Nepal, eight species of red flowers bloom in Ghorepani area.
According to Narayan Sapkota, a resident of Beni Municipality-2, the number of people, who are mesmerized by the beautiful natural shades, is increasing. “All over the forest there are only visitors who come to see the red grouses. Some are taking photos and some are making stickers", said Sapkota. In the forests of the rural areas of Myagdi this year, rhododendrons have bloomed better than previous years. The color of the blooming red rhododendrons has added beauty to the green forest.
It is not only the young generation who enjoy and take pictures with rhododendrons, but also people's representatives, leaders of political parties, employees, and school students are doing so. When going to the village to participate in various programs, political parties and people's representatives are also busy in stopping vehicles and motorcycles at the place where rhododendrons are blooming.
The rhododendrons, which usually bloom in March-May, this year bloomed earlier than last year and the forest was full of flowers. Rhododendrons, which start budding from the middle of February, this year have bloomed in the second week of February. In February and March, after the blooming of red roses, the forest becomes colourful and it attracts everyone's heart._RSS
