NATTA and NTB promoted Nepal tourism in Guangzhou
A programme entitled ‘Nepal's Tourism Promotion in China’ was held in Guangzhou on April 22. The programme was held in the collaboration of the Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou, Nepal Travel and Tour Operators Association (NATTA) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). Around 100 Chinese travel and tour operators, 22 Nepali tour operators, 15 media persons, and authorities from Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Consulate were present in the programme.
Welcoming all the guests and members, Dipak Banjade, the acting Consul General of the Nepal Consulate, stated that the people to people relations among Nepal and China has been improving since time immemorial. Citing to the example of Nepali monks and scholars who visited China in early 5th Century during Tang Dynasty for pilgrimage-tourism, stated that open trade and tourism have remained as an integral part of Nepal China relations and the relations have been marked by friendliness, understanding, mutual support, collaboration and respect for one another's sensitivities.
Addressing to the programme, the secretary General of Guangdong Travel Service Association state that Guangdong is the province that begun Nepal's tourism promotion prior in China. Nepal's tourism products have attracted numerous tourists. Snow Mountain exploration and pilgrimage are in stable sales situation.
The other activities held during the programme were presentation on Nepal's tourism potentialities by Nepal Tourism Board, Nepali folk dance cultural performance by Nepali students studying in China and B2B meetings held between the members of the two nation’s travel and tour operators.
