Held from June 7 to 9 in Kathmandu, it is the biggest tourism event held in the country
The third edition of Himalayan Travel Mart will be held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal from June 7 till June 9, 2019. The Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) which was launched and effectively organised since 2017 with the theme and vision to build up Nepal as the 'Gateway to the Himalayas' is Nepal's premier international travel and tourism trade show facilitating unparalleled networking and business opportunities and valuable industry insights among the global tourism and hospitality organisations and individuals engaged in various aspects of the tourism in the Himalayan region.
This Business to Business (B2B) mart offers a unique platform for marketing and promotion of tourism products and services availing the remarkable gathering of global buyers, himalayan sellers, travel bloggers, influencers, national and international media, travel industry professionals and delegates from around the world.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (Government of Nepal) is the proud host of this event which is being organised and executed by PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration and support of Nepal Tourism Board, PATA International Headquarters, Nepal Airlines Corporation and several prominent tourism associations here in Nepal.
The first two editions of HTM in the year 2017 and 2018 attracted the participation of 225 foreign delegates from 53 different countries and over 170 foreign delegates from 36 countries respectively.
“With renewed zeal and enthusiasm following the two remarkably successful editions of HTM in the year 2017 and 18, we have been fully energised with a focus in intensifying the value for our stakeholders for the 3rd Himalayan Travel Mart is (HTM)as it is now a popular brand for the promotion of tourism and we are receiving overwhelming responses and interests for participation from many tourism source markets” said PATA Nepal Chapter Chairman, Sunil Shakya.
“The Himalayan Travel Mart has been established as the nation’s major International Travel Trade Show and this B2B event has been able to promote and showcase Nepal’s tourism offerings to the world”, said the CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi who added, “this mart has been a unique platform among the travel and tourism industry professionals and individuals for networking, business promotions and sharing the knowledge and skills. The interest shown by the buyers and sellers in the past two editions of HTM has proven its increasing popularity and ongoing success”.
Joshi also believes organizing HTM prior to Visit Nepal Year 2020 will certainly add colours, value and significant contribution to the Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 campaign.
PATA Nepal Chapter had conceptualized this HTM B2B Mart with an intend to encourage the business and networking opportunities between Himalayan Sellers (from India, Nepal, China (Tibet Autonomous Region), Pakistan, Bhutan and Myanmar and global buyers (from Europe, North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and CIS nations, Asia, Africa and the Middle East).
Suresh Singh Budal, CEO of PATA Nepal Chapter said, “it is an inspiring achievement for us to know about the increasing popularity of the mart since we have witnessed the participation of sellers from Vietnam and UAE in 2018, even apart from the Himalayan region. This year too, we are presenting diverse products and services for global buyers by inviting the sellers from Nepal, India, Pakistan, China (Tibet), Bhutan and Thailand. “He informed that the necessary preparation and planning for HTM 2019 including delegates promotion and enrollment, inviting speakers, marketing and promotion of the events, et cetra have been successfully undertaken in view of intensifying the value for all the delegates in terms of effective business and networking sessions as well as insightful conferences.
