The Farmers Market at Le Sherpa every Saturday brings together producers of fresh organic produce from across Nepal

As people nowadays get more health conscious a whole new culture of eating healthy is on the rise in Nepal.  Today everyone wants to stay fit, eat healthy and look their best. Perhaps, that is why many organic markets and outlets have opened throughout the Kathmandu Valley and have become a sort of event to meet, eat and shop during the weekends. One of the more popular farmers markets is hosted at Le Sherpa at Maharajung every Saturday from 8.30 am to noon.

Le Sherpa brings together the finest fresh quality producers from across Nepal and both locals and expats participate in the market. There are around 40 vendors displaying their products that are committed to quality.


        


The idea behind the farmers market was to bring together producers in Nepal who could produce good quality fresh healthy food items. It is also a platform for producers to meet buyers who can interact with them and sample their products. People visit the Farmers Market for the variety of good organic products on sale as well as to enjoy the social gathering and fun ambience.

You will find everything at the farmers market - from vegetables and fruit to meat products along with a variety of locally produced cheese, fresh fish, artisanal bread and pastries, organic honeys, home-made pickles and jams and meat products. It is one of the most diverse gatherings of high quality local products. The music, refreshing drinks and fun vibes add to the liveliness of the place as there is always something for everyone.

At Le Sherpa there is a feel that a real food movement and good fun is gaining momentum every weekend. The Saturday market at Le Sherpa offers an energetic setting to spend your Saturday mornings. It is the ideal place to have breakfast with friends and family while the kids relax in the garden. You could also do your weekly shopping for fresh and healthy food items. They also have a wide range of refreshing drinks which are a perfect way to beat the heat.


Local restaurants from around the valley serve a variety of food and bakery items and so you could feast on New York style bagels, big momos, cold noodles, Newari delicacies, Vietnamese summer rolls, Italian lasagne and caramelised onions, fruits and others. They also have numerous herbal products like barley juice and herbal tea which is good for digestion. For coffee lovers, the local coffee from nearby Nuwakot won’t disappoint you.

Le Sherpa also serves a special brunch at the restaurant and offers happy hour facilities throughout the day with wine, beer and cocktails.
