Sarangkot is a hilly area located in the city of Pokhara that offers one of the greatest views of the Annapurna Himalayan mountains peaks and a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. It is best viewed at dawn or dusk due to the spectacular pink and orange hues the mountain range takes on.

Even if you aren’t a morning person, watching the sunrise behind some of the world’s tallest mountains is an experience worth getting up early for. This place is located  6.8 miles from Fewa Lake. It is a tourist friendly place consisting a lot of Guest houses, Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Parking lots.

The hike to Sarangkot is about a 3-hour uphill walk. There is a view tower at the top and few teashops for refreshment. Spectacular sunrise and sunset views and a great paragliding spot make Sarangkot one of the best hiking spot around Pokhara valley. Being on the top of the Sarankot to see sunrise from east and Golden Himalaya on north makes the trip unforgettable. Breathing air coming from Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail Himalaya) makes it a garden of paradise.

It has the longest and fastest zip line in the world which starts at the top of a mountain and runs down to the valley below. Hiking and trekking are something’s which is most popular throughout the country of Nepal. People have suggested and taken part in hiking and trekking trails to the top of Sarangkot. It has an absolutely lovely setup for the wildlife admirers, offering them some very unique experiences, like seeing a leopard strolling around in its natural habitat, and a lot of other animals in the natural wild setup, in their true charm. 

Getting There,

There are several ways that you can make it up to the Sarangkot viewpoint and look over the Annapurna Mountains and Lakeside. From Lakeside you can hike up to the summit. This light trek will take about 1.5 hours. Many people choose this option if they are looking to catch the sunrise over Pokhara. You can also take a taxi up to Sarangkot, which could be as expensive as Rs.1,000 to Rs.1,500 0ne way. So the fastest and cheapest way to get to Sarangkot would be to take the local bus from Baglung Bus Park Which will cost you only Rs. 15 to Rs. 20.
