Kathmandu,

Aloft Kathmandu Thamel with Hatti Hatti celebrated the momentous occasion of International Women’s Day, on March 6, 2021. The theme for this year is #choosetochallenge and the message was to empower for change. This Women’s Day let us all choose to challenge and call out gender inequality.

Hatti Hatti is a non-profit organization in Nepal that supports and educates women from marginalized communities. They empower women by making them independent entrepreneurs through primary education and teaching them tailoring skills. With the help of this ‘local market’, both organizations were able to sponsor the education and training for six more women, who will be on the path of success.  A ‘Local Market’ was organized in The Courtyard at the Chhaya Devi Complex, showcasing the handmade wares and local Nepali products of independent female artists, designers, entrepreneurs and small business owners. There were lively tunes, delicious food and entrainment for young children as well.

It was a fun-filled event accompanied by sunny skies and laughter all round.   Aloft Kathmandu Thamel also donated sewing machine to Hatti Hatti as gesture of goodwill further committing themselves to women empowerment.  Mr. Vikram Singh, The General Manager said, “This event was organized to support women entrepreneurs and to promote sustainability, equality and entrepreneurship.”  Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is empowering women and recognizing their achievements.

Both organizations always uplift and celebrate women’s accomplishments, their untapped potential and all the future opportunities that await them.
