A hidden cove in the city

What makes Embers stand out is its use of open space that gives it a very sophisticated feel.
It is hard to find a quiet place in Kathmandu, untouched by its clamor and noise. Away from the bustling Thamel and Jhamsikhel where you will find eateries in every corner, Embers lies in a more hushed part of town. The restaurant is centered in a lush green garden that overlooks an elegant mansion of modern taste. What makes Embers stand out is its use of open space that gives it a very sophisticated feel.
The outside of the restaurant opens up to a small coffee shop with a few tiny tables that could accommodate passer bys seeking some rest and even shelter from the rain. The door opens up to fragrant aroma of coffee beans tinged with the intoxicating smell of sugar; all of the scrumptious bakes freshly made by the restaurant itself. However, this is a facade of what the restaurant is, the inside is like a garden that has been touched by modern elegance.
When you step into the spacious restaurant you will feel a fresh breeze of quiet and serenity wash over you. The garden is a perfect place if you wish to sip a cold drink on a hot day while you browse through your laptop while I personally prefer the Lounge area, where one can delve into a book while sitting atop a comfy sofa.
The restaurant area is a suitable place if you are in for dinner in the evening, as it gives a pleasing view of the garden while soft instrumental music plays in the background. However, the pivot of the restaurant area is its charming bar that could make any party and get together fun for the younger group of people.
However, Embers is widely different from other eateries that usually cater to a particular group of people as its clientele are as wide as professional people who seek a quiet meeting venue, couples seeking a perfect date, families having a warm dinner and even some youngsters celebrating a party. Embers has a host of private rooms that could be suitable for conducting an inclusive meeting, private parties and even hosting small wedding ceremonies. The rooms are cozy with intriguing decors, some paneled with woods that gives it an appearance of a posh mansion.
Embers serves a wide range of continental food, unlike any eateries I’ve ever seen. The basics start from healthy Chicken Caesar Salad to more fulfilling Tender Loin Steak. The salad is healthy with lots of green but does not taste half as bad especially for people like me who dislike greens in food. The Tender Lion Steak in rich in taste perfectly balanced with the mashed potatoes and some vegetables. But the inner child and teenager in me rejoices at the sight of crisp fried chicken and French fries, Chicken in the Nest was happiness served in a basket perfectly enjoyed with tiny sips of Blue Angel.
Embers could be perfect for any occasion; a late weekend dinner, a romantic date, a hangout with friends and a perfect place for board meetings.
