The hotel celebrates the German festival for the 3rd time in Nepal
Oktoberfest celebrations have become popular all over the world with numerous international hotels and restaurants hosting such events every year. Oktoberfest is a 16-day long beer-drinking, eating, singing and dancing festival celebrated every year from late September to October. The festivity is considered as the world's largest beer drinking festival.
Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, carrying on its tradition is hosting its 3rd Oktoberfest on the 16 and 17 of September. The festival began with the pouring of the first beer by the German Ambassador designate Roland Schafer and delegates from Embassy of Germany.
Speaking at the inauguration, Schafer said, “We live in a truly globalised world as it is fantastic to be have been invited by an Irish GM of Hyatt Regency to a German Oktoberfest here in Nepal. Thank you for having me here and I hope all of you have a wonderful time.”
There are various Bavarian food items you can try like the Sauerkraut soup, Chicken Schnitzel or the Thyme infused roast chicken. But as it’s the Oktoberfest, my eyes were only on the sausages, and they didn’t disappoint. The bratwurst, typically made with pork and veal, and seasoned with ginger was juicy, flavourful and fulfilling. The frankfurters were plump and juicy and was very delicious. Apart from these the patrons were also enjoying the pork chops and the roasted pork leg.
If you’re looking for a German experience you should take part in this exciting German festival with friends and family and enjoy a range of scrumptious delicacies such as bratwurst, frankfurters and sauerkraut together with salads and pretzels while enjoying the live music played by Jigme and Friends. You can also beat the heat and take a dip in the pool before you indulge in the mouth-watering delicacies.
