Thai Airways celebrates 51st anniversary in Nepal
On December 4, Thai Airways International Public Co Ltd marked their 50 years of service excellence in Nepal with an event at Hotel Shangri~La. The event also witnessed a felicitation of Top Ticket Sales and Cargo Sales agents.
Commemorating the whole year of 2018, Thai Airways International Public Co Ltd organised various CSR programmes such as entertainment and educational tours for deserving children along with youth icons of Nepal.
The familiarisation trip was held from September 8-12 to Bangkok, Samut Songkhram and Hua-Hin in Thailand. Followed by a Story Telling with Thai Airways programme at Hotel Royal Singi on September 25. Thai Airways conducted a CSR programme at Center for Disabled Children Assistance in Kapan on June 23.
Thai Airways has also been carrying out uninterrupted and regular CSR activities like Blood Donation programmes annually on July 31, annual cataract surgery camps, cardio check-up and health camps, stationary distributions to orphanage schools.
Commencing flights to Nepal since December 4, 1968 the airline reminisced their journey and has continued their support. The first ever passenger jet service airline introducing Nepal to the rest of the world, Thai Airways operated a weekly flight in the beginning which soon increased to an addition of more flights due to high demand.
From October 1997, it started daily flights with A300-800 aircraft and introduced B777-200 from November 1998 to support visit Nepal Year 1998 which continues till date. Introducing a computerised reservation system, expanding routes, excelling in in-flight entertainment, the airline has created many milestones in these 50 years.
