Hotel Yak & Yeti turns 41

Hotel Yak & Yeti was established on September 27, 1977, now 41 years later, the historical and cultural, five-star hotel celebrates its anniversary. On September 27 this year, the property marked its anniversary with a special ceremony on the lush green lawns with friends and media personnel. This Rana palace-like hotel has preserved its traditional Nepali style with antiques and artefacts, along with a touch of modern, renovated features as well. Consisting of 270 rooms, Hotel Yak & Yeti offers a shopping arcade, a grand swimming pool, two tennis courts, a workout centre and a luxury spa. The hotel’s Lal Durbar Convention centre is the largest in Kathmandu, having hosted “1500 local and international banquet functions since its 40th anniversary.”

Since its 40th year anniversary, the hotel has led community service acts to raise awareness to cultural, social and environmental issues. A few activities include the Durbar Marg cleaning campaign, recycling demonstration programmes for children from Tangal Secondary School on Earth Day to encourage to #endplasticpollution, Dental Hygiene Camp for Shree Bal Bikash School and Animal/Cow Shelter Awareness Programme in collaboration with Art of Living, Nepal. Along with this, the hotel has also implemented F&B promotions: “A progressive and contemporary Nepali menu for Nepali New Year 2075, 7 Lucky Foods for the Chinese New Year 2018, Gout de France, Sri Lankan Food Festival.”
