A short trek to Poonhill

A short trek to Poonhill, Ghorepani could be an ideal trek to those willing to explore the profound beauty of Annapurna Region within a limited time constraint. The area is popular for its stunning sunrise view over Annapurna Mountain and a full circle view of more than eight other snowcapped mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, Barasikhar, Nilgiri, Tukuche peak, Hiunchuli and Manaslu ranges.

This trek takes us through the delightful traditional villages such as Ghandruk, Ulleri, Ghorepani and Tikhedunga, resided by the ethnic communities of Gurungs and Magars.



The trek particularly starts from Nayapul in Pokhara and can be completed within 4-5 days of moderate walking. As Poonhill lies at lower altitude(3210m), there is no risk of mountain altitude sickness in this region. Invigorating through spectacular rhododendron, orchids and magnolia forests, the scenary this trail provides could leave any trekker speechless. Despite of being at relatively lower elevation, the view point on Poonhill is considered to offer the best view of mountains and sunrise in Annapurna Region.
